Part 116296-00 is a two-stage Ametek Lamb motor built on ball bearings, 5.7 inches across the frame and rated for 240 volts. Ball bearing construction is the longer-lived option where a machine sees heavy or continuous duty.
It goes in as a direct replacement in equipment specified for a 240V motor of this frame. Check the plate on the motor coming out, because diameter, voltage, stage count and discharge arrangement all have to match, and a 120V unit is not a substitute.
Fading suction, a burning odor while running, rising noise, or a motor that no longer starts are the reasons this part gets ordered. Any of them points at the motor rather than the filter or the hose, provided the airway has already been checked for blockages. Disconnect power before beginning.
