SEBO Handle Catch Lock Pin, 4 x 33.5, for X1, X2, G1 and G2 — Single

The handle catch turns on a pin, and once that pin has worn the whole latch starts to feel vague underfoot. Part 187 is the 4 x 33.5 lock pin for the SEBO X1 and X2 and for the G1 and G2. It is sold singly, with a ten pack stocked separately under 0187ER for anyone servicing a fleet.

Four millimetres across and 33.5 long, it passes through the catch and its mounting to give the latch a single axis to rotate on. All the load from parking and reclining the machine goes through that one pin, so it wears in the middle where the catch bears on it, gradually going from round to oval.

A slack or missing pin lets the catch tilt out of line. The handle then either refuses to lock upright, so the machine will not stand on its own, or it will not hold its recline while you are reaching under a bed and keeps trying to come back up at you. Neither gets better on its own, and a catch running on a worn pin wears itself out faster than it should.

Fitting takes minutes with the machine unplugged and laid on its back: the old pin drives out, the new one goes in, and the catch swings freely again. Support the catch as the pin comes clear so the spring behind it does not launch itself across the room.
