Product details
Part 159289S is the belt lifter body, the casting that carries the lifter mechanism, for the Kirby Generation 3. It is the part the lever pivots in, and it takes the load every time the belt is lifted off the motor shaft.
Castings crack around the pivot after enough years of that. The symptom is a lever gone sloppy or sitting crooked, a lifter that no longer holds the belt fully clear, or a lever that pops out of position under load. None of it improves on its own; the crack simply widens.
The same body carries across the Generation series, so it also covers the G4, G5, GSix and Ultimate G. Fit it with the belt off and check the lever moves through its full travel before the nozzle goes back on.
