This genuine OEM bottom plate hinge ships in a four-pack for the Kirby Classic I CR and related uprights. The hinge lets the bottom plate swing open for belt and brush roll access, then hold securely closed against the nozzle during cleaning.
A cracked or worn hinge lets the bottom plate sit loose or misaligned, which can throw off brush height and let debris escape the cleaning path. Fresh factory hinges return a snug, properly seated plate and correct brush contact.
