Kenmore Primary Filter - Cr...

Product details

Part KC44KDMTZ000 is the primary filter Kenmore specifies for the Crosswave upright DU3002 and DU3018.

This filter catches fine dust ahead of the motor. As it discolors and loads up, the machine keeps running but the motor works harder to pull the same airflow through it, and suction at the floor tool falls off even though nothing else on the machine has changed.

  • Part: KC44KDMTZ000, primary filter
  • Fits: Kenmore DU3002, DU3018 Crosswave upright
  • Function: catches fine dust ahead of the motor
  • Replace when: the filter looks discolored or suction feels reduced at the floor tool

This filter is separate from the machine's dust collection, so a bin that still has room left does not rule it out, and a bin that looks empty does not rule it in either. A filter that has gone from its original color toward a darker, matted shade across its whole surface, not just around the edges, has usually reached the point where tapping or brushing it out no longer makes a real difference.

Confirm your Crosswave model number before ordering, since Kenmore's upright filters are not shared freely across different chassis. Comparing the old filter side by side with the new one at unboxing is the quickest way to be sure of the match before the old one goes in the bin.
