Product details
The shaft pulley arm support, part 440011413, holds the pulley shaft in line inside Hoover C1800 and C1810 uprights. It also fits the C1119080 and the C1800010, C1800020, C1810010 and C1810020 variants.
Its job is simply to keep the shaft where it belongs. When the support cracks or the bore wears oval, the shaft drifts, the belt stops running square on the pulley, and you hear it: a chirp under load, or a brushroll turning slower than the motor sounds like it should. Left long enough, the belt edge frays against the misaligned pulley and takes itself out too.
With the machine open it is worth checking the belt and the pulley face at the same time. A support that has been loose for a while rarely leaves either of them untouched.
