This replacement thrust washer (Part #21328033) sits on the motor shaft to reduce friction between the rotating and stationary parts of the motor. It fits the Hoover Innovation series and the Oreck PT357.
Without a thrust washer, metal contacts metal on the shaft, causing rapid wear, overheating, and eventually motor failure. A fresh washer restores the low-friction buffer that keeps the shaft turning smoothly. It is a small part that heads off a costly motor repair.
