The long handle bolt, part 21631302, is the version Hoover used where the handle mount needs more thread, and getting the length right is the whole trick with this part. A short bolt in a long-bolt machine will never pull the handle down tight no matter how hard you turn it.
You tend to notice the bolt has given up before you work out why. The handle rocks side to side, then starts to lean back under hand pressure, and the machine gets awkward to steer through a turn. Every push after that point is working the mounting points instead of the fastener.
It fits a wide run of Hoover uprights including the C1119, C1123, C1407, C1529, C1627, C1629, C1631, C1632, C1820, S2095, S2099, S2131, S2147, S2149, U4125, U4313, U4387, U4531, U7055, U7067 and U7079, and also the Royal CR50075. Compare the old bolt against the new one before fitting.
