Part B283-0100 is the handle bolt used on the Titan T3200 and the Simplicity and Riccar S20EZM, and it fits the Fuller Brush FBEZM as well. It is the fastener that pulls the upper handle down into the body of the machine and holds it there.
One bolt does a lot of work. Undone or missing, the handle rocks in its socket, the machine wanders as you push it, and the plastic around the joint takes stress it was never meant to carry — which is how a loose bolt turns into a cracked housing. Owners often find the bolt lying in the bag compartment or on the floor long after the wobble started.
Fitting the correct bolt makes the handle solid again. Check it is seated and snug rather than forced; overtightening into plastic is the other way this joint fails.
