Order part B283-0042B when the bottom plate on a Fuller Brush Jiffy Maid bagless upright has cracked. It is the panel that closes the underside of the nozzle around the brush roll, and it fits the Carpet Pro CPU250 and CPU350, the Fuller Brush FB-JFM and FBEZM, the Simplicity and Riccar S20EZM and S20PET, and the Titan T3200.
The plate is the only part of the machine dragged along the floor all day, so it wears thin at the front edge, cracks if the vacuum is dropped down a stair, and loses tabs where it has been off and on for belt changes. Once it stops sitting flat, air is drawn in around the sides of the nozzle instead of through it, and carpet pickup drops while the motor note stays the same.
A new plate reseals the head. Fit the felt seal at the same time if yours is flattened.
