This OEM bag ring gasket (Part #36969) fits the Eureka and Sanitaire 2122A. It maintains a proper seal in the vacuum's bag system, sitting between the dust bag and the machine body.
When the gasket deteriorates, dusty air slips around the bag instead of through it, letting debris leak out and lowering filtration. A fresh gasket restores the seal so all debris stays contained where it belongs.
