This five-pack of paper bags, part 3769, is built for the Eureka and Sanitaire SC580A cordless backpack vacuum.
Because the entire air path on a backpack unit runs across the operator's own back, bag condition affects the whole machine rather than just pickup power. A loading bag changes the sound of the machine before pickup visibly drops off, and there is a second reason to catch that early: the air moving through the machine is also what carries heat away from the motor, so a bag packed tight against the inlet cuts the cooling at the same time it cuts the suction. Swapping the bag once it reaches roughly two-thirds capacity keeps both the airflow and that cooling closer to what the machine was built around for a full shift.
Getting the fit right counts for just as much as timing the swap correctly. A bag that fails to seat completely against the inlet collar opens a path for unfiltered air to bypass the seal entirely, sending fine grit directly into the motor housing rather than trapping it where it belongs, which wears the motor down the same way running without any bag at all would. Five bags covers one loaded in the unit with a handful of spares held in reserve for a busy stretch of work.
Keep unused bags flat in storage rather than folded, since a crease near the collar can weaken the seal before the bag has even gone into service, and a compromised seal is easy to miss until the bag is already loaded and running.
