The Dirt Devil upper wire harness, part 1710530000, is the replacement wiring loom that carries power from the handle down to the motor and pump on Dirt Devil carpet cleaners. A machine that cuts out when you tilt or adjust the handle, or one that refuses to power on at all, very often has a broken conductor hidden inside this harness rather than a failed motor.
Swapping in a new harness is a straightforward repair and considerably cheaper than replacing the whole carpet cleaner, so it is well worth diagnosing before you give up on the machine. Once the new harness is in, power flows reliably through the handle in every position.
This harness fits the Dirt Devil CE6000 Featherlite, CE6100, CE6105 Jaguar, CE7100C, and CE7150 Easy Steamer Deluxe, and it also fits the Hoover FH50005 Quick and Light carpet cleaner.
