SEBO Latch Cover for AUTOMA...

Product details
Part 5307 is the small moulded cap that finishes the latch area on a SEBO AUTOMATIC X1 or AUTOMATIC X2 upright. It carries no load and drives nothing, yet its absence is obvious the moment it happens, because the recess it hides sits on the front face of the machine where hands, shoes and doorframes all land.
The cap keeps that pocket closed to the outside world. While it is in place, carpet fluff and grit stay out of the mechanism and the moulding presents an unbroken line. Once it is gone, dust packs into the recess and finds its way onto the surfaces that have to slide, so a latch that used to let go cleanly begins to feel gritty and imprecise. The usual sequence starts with a knock against a stair nose or a table leg, moves on to a cracked retaining tab, and ends with a cap that rattles for a fortnight and then vanishes into a dust bag.
Replacement is a clip-on job with the machine unplugged and nothing else to dismantle, which makes it a sensible thing to tidy up alongside any other work on the front of the housing. With the cover off, it is worth blowing the recess clear and checking that the release it sits over still moves freely through its full travel before the new cap goes on; grit that has been sitting in there for a season will otherwise be trapped under fresh trim. This is the part people go looking for as a SEBO latch cover or an AUTOMATIC X2 latch cover replacement, and the AUTOMATIC X1 takes exactly the same one.
