This OEM release pedal is a factory-specification replacement for the Clean Max ZM800, Maytag M500, Titan T500, and the Riccar and Simplicity R10P and R10S, plus the Riccar S10. Stepping on the pedal unlocks the handle so it can recline for vacuuming, and it takes repeated force every time the machine is tilted back. It also replaces part number D220-0714.
A cracked or broken release pedal makes it hard to recline the handle, which limits how the vacuum reaches under and around furniture. A fresh pedal restores smooth, reliable handle release. Because it is worked so often, this is a common wear part on these uprights.
