The elevator levers for Bissell upright carpet cleaners, sold as a left and right pair with their springs, part 2000010. They fit a wide run of PowerSteamer, PowerLifter and ProHeat machines, including the 1620, 1685, 1694-3, 1697, 1698, 1699-1, 7901, 7920, 7950, 8804, 8806, 8910 and 9E00.
The levers are what release the machine from upright into the cleaning position. They live at the foot, take a shove from the side of a shoe every time the cleaner is used, and are plastic working against a spring. When one breaks the machine either locks upright or will not stay upright, and the tank ends up sitting at an angle that leaks.
Replacing both sides at once is the sensible move, since the second lever is the same age as the first and has done the same work.
