This three-way mounting plate gives a central vacuum inlet valve a solid anchor point inside a wall that is already finished, which is exactly the problem retrofit installs run into. New-construction brackets need open stud bays to nail up; this plate is built to go in without opening the wall further than the inlet cutout itself.
