A carpet glider turns a hard floor tool into something you can run over rugs and low-pile carpet without it digging in. This one, part 34.6004-308, is the Wessel Werk CDT 370S glider with a 1 1/4 inch fit-all connection, listed in our data for the Wessel Werk 1403.

The glider clips over the tool and rides on smooth runners that let it float across the pile instead of catching on it. Without one, a bare hard floor nozzle either sticks fast to the carpet the moment you push, or scuffs the surface fibres as it goes.

The 1 1/4 inch fitting is the common wand size, but measure the outside diameter of your wand end rather than assuming - a glider that does not seat properly will pop off part-way through a pass.
