This washable Dyson DC25 pre-filter replaces the pre-motor filter in the DC25 Ball upright and related DC25 models. It installs before the motor, catching fine dust that clears the cyclone so it never reaches the motor.

A pre-filter packed with dust restricts airflow, which heats the motor and drags down suction over time. Because this filter is washable, a quick rinse or an outright replacement reopens the airflow path and keeps the motor protected from the debris that would otherwise reach it.
