This washable pre-filter, part F992, is an EnviroCare-made replacement for the Dyson DC24 and covers the Animal, Multi Floor, Multi Floor Exclusive and Blueprint Limited Edition versions. It stands in for Dyson's 918976-01 and 913788-01.

It measures 5 inches across and an inch thick, and seats ahead of the motor to catch what the cyclone does not throw into the bin.

The DC24 is a small, light machine that works its motor hard, so a dust-packed pre-filter has a quick and obvious effect: the vacuum gets hot, the note rises, and pickup fades before you have finished a room. Rinse the filter under cold water, let it dry all the way through, and replace it once it no longer returns to its full thickness.
