Product details

F991 is a washable replacement pre-motor filter for the Dyson DC18, and that model only. It takes the place of Dyson's 911685-01.

If you are not sure where it lives, pull the bin off the machine and the filter is directly underneath, in the path the air takes on its way out. It is the first thing to check when a DC18 loses suction, and cleaning or replacing it fixes more machines than any other single part.

Because it is washable you can rinse it and reuse it, but it has to be bone dry before it goes back, right through the foam, which takes considerably longer than it looks. Installing a damp filter is how DC18 motors get killed. Plan on a rinse every three months and a fresh filter once it stops recovering.
