This vacuum pan install kit from Plastiflex, part VPROUGHIN, is built for routing a central vacuum connection down through a floor instead of through a wall. It pairs a length of hose fitted with an adapter to a flexible valve extension that carries the connection from the pan opening down to the piping below.
A built-in vac pan, the low kick-plate inlet often set at a kitchen island or under cabinetry, sits somewhere a straight horizontal run to a wall inlet usually is not practical. Sending the connection down through the floor instead means the extension has to make its way past joists and subfloor without pinching shut, which is the job the flexible section of this kit is built to do.
Because this is a through-floor path rather than a wall run, plan the route before cutting any openings. Once the hose and extension are set and the subfloor is closed back up, correcting the path means opening the floor again rather than simply pulling a hose out of a wall bay.
