Articulation on the DISCO floor polisher comes from this joint. SEBO 3226GS is the turning swivel neck, finished in gray black and specified for the Ice Blue, Onyx and Fun versions of the machine. It does two jobs at once: it lets the head lie flat and pivot under furniture as the handle moves, and it forms the duct that takes air from the nozzle up into the machine body.
Because it steers and seals at the same time, a worn neck produces an odd mixture of symptoms. The steering goes notchy or stiff, the head refuses to settle flat on the floor, and air is drawn in at the pivot instead of at the nozzle, so the machine feels down on suction for no reason a blockage check will find. Play at the joint usually turns out to be the bearing components rather than the neck casting, so it is worth inspecting the swivel neck bearing 2954 and the six-piece bearing segment set 2950ER before condemning the neck itself. A sound neck gives back easy turning and a properly closed airway.
