Part VPQW01 is a white trim plate made to finish a Plasti-Flex central vacuum pan inlet valve. On its own, an inlet valve set into drywall or a cabinet face looks unfinished, showing a rough cut edge and patch compound around the opening. The trim plate covers that opening in a neat, even ring so the connection point reads as a built-in feature rather than a hole someone cut for a hose.
Trim plates take more cosmetic damage than the valves they surround. They crack from a dropped tool, yellow with age faster than the surrounding wall paint, or get spattered and taped over during a paint job and never come fully clean afterward. Because the plate is a separate piece from the valve mechanism behind it, swapping a damaged one leaves the working parts of the inlet untouched, and the valve keeps operating normally the whole time the old plate is off the wall.

Fitting the plate is a snap-on or screw-on job around the existing opening, using only whatever hardware ships with the plate, and it does not call for touching the valve mechanism at all. Inlet openings differ by manufacturer, so before ordering, hold the old plate up against this one and compare the shape and size, since trim plates do not carry across every central vacuum brand even when the finish and general look are close.
Hold onto the old plate until the replacement is confirmed to fit. On a door-style inlet rather than a plain pan opening, also check the fastener layout on the back of the plate, since some styles clip into place while others reuse the same screw holes as the original.
