The MC-V9638 power nozzle steers on a swivel where the wand neck meets the head, and part AC25QMGZM09 is the cap that holds that joint together.

You feel the cap failing before you see it. The neck develops play, the head no longer follows the wand cleanly through a turn, and there is a knock every time you change direction. If the cap cracks right through, the joint can separate mid-clean and leave the nozzle on the floor with the wiring in the neck taking the strain.

Replacing it is straightforward at the pivot. Clear out the hair and grit that collect in the joint while it is open, and look at the pivot surfaces themselves: a new cap on a worn pivot will feel tighter, but it will not last as long as it should.
