This replacement Kenmore swivel assembly with a 2-prong connector links the wand to the power nozzle and lets the nozzle pivot while carrying the electrical feed that drives its brush roll. It provides the rotating joint that keeps the nozzle flat as you steer.
A worn swivel loses its electrical contact or binds at the pivot, which can cut power to the nozzle or make steering stiff. Replacing the assembly restores a clean 2-prong connection and smooth pivoting so the nozzle tracks and powers correctly.
