This replacement strain relief (Part #590220008) protects the power cord where it enters your Hoover machine. It fits the Hoover F8100-900 carpet cleaner and clamps the cord to prevent flexing at the connection point.
Without a sound strain relief, the cord bends sharply at the entry point and the conductors fray or break over time. A fresh strain relief takes that stress off the wire and extends the life of the cord.
