Product details

Part R16710 is the shorter of the two wand sections used in Rainbow's self-docking system, sized to 17 inches and built for the SRX and Black Series E2 Type 12 units running PN-3 or PN-12 power nozzles.

Self-docking wands carry current through their own joined faces rather than through a cord routed along the tube, so there is nothing exposed on the outside that can catch on furniture or wear through with use. The short section mates end to end with the longer one to make up full working length, and this listing covers the short piece by itself, so the section that has actually failed is the only one that has to be replaced.

Look for a coupling face that has cracked or gone out of round, or contact surfaces that no longer meet flush once the sections are joined. Either fault can leave a power nozzle running intermittently, or not at all, even while the vacuum's main motor keeps working fine. Twisting or flexing the assembled wand while watching for the nozzle to drop out is a reliable way to confirm the fault sits at this joint rather than inside the nozzle itself.

  • Part: R16710 short wand section
  • Length: 17 inches
  • Fits: Rainbow SRX (RHCS19), Black Series E2 Type 12, with PN-3 and PN-12 power nozzles
  • Feature: self-docking contact face, no exposed cord

Check both the short and long sections for wear before replacing only one, since a worn face on the half you keep can reproduce the same symptom in the new part. Cleaning residue or light corrosion off the contact faces is worth trying first, since that alone sometimes restores a connection that looked like a hardware failure. Ships to you in 2-5 business days.
