Kirby Shampoo Hose Elbow - ...

Product details
Part 308114 is the angled moulded fitting that carries the solution line around the bend where it meets the attachment coupling on a Kirby shampoo system. It looks like a minor piece, but a crack in it takes the whole shampooer out of service.
Wear shows up at the point where the hose flexes back and forth against this fitting every time the shampooer is used, and the resulting hairline crack is often too fine to notice by eye. What gives it away instead is solution seeping out around the bend, a connection that keeps working itself loose under pump pressure, or a feed to the attachment that goes weak because outside air is being pulled in through the crack rather than solution being drawn toward the head.
Because the leak point is hidden inside the connection, a lot of people chase a weak-feed complaint by checking the pump or the tank first. Wiping the elbow dry and running the shampooer briefly will usually show a bead of solution forming right at the bend if this fitting is the actual cause.
It fits the Kirby Avalir shampoo system along with the Generation 3 through Generation 7 machines that use the same shampoo attachment design. Push the hose fully onto the new elbow when installing it, since a shallow seat is what lets the leak come back within a few uses.
