SEBO Power Cord Sealing Adapter for SOFTCASE CE12

Where the mains cable enters the SOFTCASE CE12 body there is a sealing adapter gripping the lead and sealing the opening it passes through. The parts sheet gives it position 6, immediately after the complete air guide at position 5 and just before the cable hook at 7, and SEBO supplies it as part number 75146.

Small as it is, the adapter decides how long the cord lasts. It takes the tug when the lead is pulled from across a room and stops that force reaching the connections inside, and it keeps the housing sealed at the point where a hole has been made in it. Split that adapter, or let it go slack, and the lead begins sawing its way through that opening whenever the cord is pulled, so the internal joints take the load instead, and what follows is the intermittent supply that is so tedious to chase later.

The rest of the supply side is documented on the same sheet, so a cord job can be done properly in one go: the mains connector is position 10, the two-wire 9.25 m cable in 2 x 17 AWG is position 15, the protection cover is 11, and a strain relief is listed at 170. Renewing this adapter alongside a cord is cheap insurance against repeating the work.
