Fitting the 661, this replacement Panasonic motor housing seal (part #AMC65A-F70), or body packing, closes the joint at the end of the motor housing to keep the airway airtight around the motor.
Rubber seals dry out, harden, and crack with age and heat, and once the packing fails air leaks at the motor housing instead of pulling through the machine. That leak steals suction and can let dust bypass the filter. A fresh seal restores an airtight housing and full cleaning power.
