The top cover latch (Part #77281A308N) is an OEM replacement that secures the top cover on Sanitaire SC9180 commercial uprights and related Eureka and Electrolux-Eureka machines. The latch holds the cover closed so the machine keeps a sealed airflow path.
A broken or worn latch lets the cover pop open during use, which bleeds off suction and lets dust escape at the seam. Replacing the latch closes the cover securely again and returns full suction to the cleaning path.
