Product details
Part 6323-01-X is the Rug Rat geared replacement belt for the Shark Rocket. Its molded teeth are what separate it from a plain flat belt: the drive is carried on the teeth rather than by friction across a smooth face.
Rubber hardens and loses flexibility with age, and once that happens on a geared belt the teeth start skipping their gear instead of biting cleanly, which stalls the roller even while the vacuum's motor keeps drawing full power. A dead-still roller paired with a scorched-rubber smell is the clear sign the belt has already failed.
On a compact roller like this one, wound hair and thread pile up fast and can jam the roller solid, which then destroys a freshly fitted belt within days. Checking that the roller spins freely before installing the replacement avoids that repeat failure.
- Part: 6323-01-X, geared drive belt
- Fits: Shark Rocket
- Function: toothed belt driving the bristle roller
- Tip: pick any tangled hair out of the roller before the new belt goes on, for a clean start
Work slowly when seating a toothed belt so the teeth line up square rather than riding half engaged, and turn the roller over by hand once before switching the machine on to confirm it moves freely.
