This replacement handle latch screw spacer fits Royal upright vacuums and sits between the handle latch screw and its mounting point. The spacer sets the correct standoff so the latch screw holds the handle latch at the right depth and tension.
A missing or crushed spacer lets the latch screw draw down too far or sit loose, which throws off the latch engagement and can leave the handle catching poorly or rattling. Fitting the correct spacer restores the proper gap and a latch that seats and releases as designed.
