This genuine OEM flange plate screw (part #R-747) fits Rexair-Rainbow vacuums and is also cataloged as part #78-8919-06. It fastens the flange plate to the housing, holding that assembly square and secure.
A screw that strips or backs out lets the flange plate loosen, which can cause rattling, air leaks at the seam, or added stress on the surrounding parts. Installing the correct screw returns a tight, properly aligned hold.
