This genuine OEM Rexair-Rainbow outer clamp ring (Part #R598) fits the D3. The ring wraps the machine's sections and clamps them together, holding the assembly closed with a sealed, secure fit.
A clamp ring that has cracked, stretched, or lost its tension no longer draws the sections tight, which allows air and dust to leak at the joint and can let the halves separate under use. A weak clamp undermines both suction and filtration. Fitting the correct outer ring restores a firm, sealed hold.
