This bearing shield (Part #R146) mounts at the separator end of your Rainbow D2 motor and fits the Rainbow/Rexair D2. It shields the motor bearing from the water mist and debris that a water-filtration vacuum naturally throws off.
Rainbow machines pull air through water, so moisture is always present near the motor. With the shield worn or missing, that mist reaches the bearing and starts corrosion, which leads to roughness, noise, and eventual bearing failure. Keeping a sound shield in place blocks the moisture and adds meaningful life to the motor.
