Product details

Part 107294 is the thermal protector for the ProTeam Sierra backpack vacuum, a small in-line safety component wired into the motor circuit that cuts power when the motor runs hotter than the design allows.

Motors overheat for reasons that have nothing to do with the protector itself. A clogged filter starving airflow, a blocked hose, or a bag left past its fill line all make the motor work harder and run hotter than it should, and the thermal protector is simply the part that reacts to that heat rather than the part causing it. A machine that keeps tripping is worth checking for an airflow restriction first, since replacing the protector without fixing the underlying cause usually just buys a few more minutes of runtime before it trips again. Once the protector itself has actually failed, though, the motor will not restart no matter how clear the airflow path is, and at that point this is the part that gets swapped rather than diagnosed around.

  • Part: 107294
  • Fits: ProTeam Sierra backpack vacuum
  • Function: in-line thermal cutoff wired into the motor circuit
  • Symptom: motor will not start or shuts down with no airflow cause found

Work with the machine unplugged when installing the new protector, and check the filters, hose, and bag fill level before closing the machine back up, so a fresh part is not immediately sacrificed to the same heat that took out the last one. If the replacement trips again within the first few minutes of running, treat that as confirmation of an airflow restriction elsewhere rather than a defective part, and trace the path from intake to exhaust before assuming the new protector is at fault.
