ProTeam Sound Muffler - Pro Vacuum Back Pack

Part 105800 is the sound muffler fitted to ProTeam's QuarterVac, AviationVac, and ProVac backpacks, three machines specified in large part because a crew can run them through an occupied office or terminal without the noise announcing the cleaning schedule to everyone in the building.

The muffler does its work out of sight inside the housing, which makes it easy to overlook during a routine motor or filter swap, and easy to discover crumbled after a few seasons of repeated heat exposure. Either way, the symptom is the same: the machine comes back together noticeably louder than it left the shelf.

Because the noise change happens gradually across dozens of shifts, the operator running the same machine every day is often the last person to notice it. A side-by-side comparison against a newer unit of the same model, or against how the machine sounded when it was first put into service, tends to reveal how much the muffler has degraded far more clearly than judging the current noise level on its own.

Whenever one of these three backpacks is already open for service, it is worth pulling the muffler and checking its condition even if noise was not the original complaint. A quick visual check costs nothing while the housing is open. Closing the housing back up around a worn-out muffler quietly cancels the very reason that machine earned a spot on the route.
