Part 835685 is the pulley inside the 15-inch ProGen nozzle that the drive belt wraps around on its way from the motor shaft to the brush roll. Every unit of torque reaching the brush roll on this nozzle has to pass across this single pulley first.
Wear here follows a predictable arc. The belt groove polishes under friction first, and eventually the edge profile rounds off entirely. Once that happens the belt can no longer bite the pulley the way it needs to, so it slips under any real load. In practice that shows up three ways: belts wearing out on a shortened cycle instead of lasting a normal season, the brush roll bogging noticeably on thick or plush carpet, and a rhythmic squeal that tracks brush roll speed rather than motor speed. A second, separate failure mode is bearing wear inside the assembly, which tends to announce itself as a steady whine or rumble from the nozzle housing regardless of the surface underneath.
Fits the ProTeam ProGen 15 and ProGen 12 uprights. Going through more than one belt in a single season on either machine is a strong reason to inspect this pulley before installing another replacement belt. After fitting the new pulley, check belt tension before closing the nozzle back up, since a belt riding loose on a fresh groove wears out just as fast as one riding on the rounded groove it replaced.
