Product details
Part 834740 replaces the power cord on new-style ProGen uprights, confirmed for the ProGen 12, in the 40-foot length. That reach is enough for a single operator to work through an entire hallway or an open floor of cubicles from one wall outlet without stopping mid-job to relocate.
Trouble on this cord rarely shows up as a sudden, total failure. Instead the outer jacket scuffs through wherever it repeatedly drags across a door threshold, the strain relief gradually loosens from sideways tugging rather than a clean pull straight from the socket, and the machine starts losing power intermittently right where the cord bends near either end. Once a worn patch exposes bare copper underneath, that section has reached the end of its service life rather than a spot worth patching with tape for another month.
Confirm the length before ordering, since ProGen also sells a separate 50-foot cord under its own part number, and this one is specifically the shorter 40-foot version built for the newer cord mount used on current-production machines. Check which mounting style the machine on hand actually has before assuming compatibility.
Cut all power to the vacuum before starting the swap, and lay the replacement into the same channel the original cord followed so the housing closes without squeezing it anywhere along its length. A pinched cord at reassembly wears through in weeks rather than years, so take the extra minute to check the fit before the last screw goes back in.
