This replacement Shark pre-motor foam filter (Part #F695) fits the Shark Vertex DuoClean models AZ2000, AZ2000W, and AZ2002. It sits ahead of the motor, catching fine dust before it reaches the motor and wears it down.

Foam pre-filters compress and tear as they age, and a flattened one lets debris slip past while airflow drops. When the foam no longer springs back after a rinse, suction fades and the motor loses its front-line protection. A fresh pair restores both.
