Product details
The Plastiflex CV-VEX-S mounts as a central vacuum wall inlet, its cover finished in white with a squared plate around a hinged round door, sitting flush and low-profile against most wall colors and trim. It is the point where the hose connects, and replacing a worn one is one of the more direct ways to restore lost suction at that inlet.
Inlet doors take more daily wear than most owners expect. Every time a hose goes in, the door flexes on its hinge and the gasket around the opening compresses a little more. Eventually the door stops closing flush, the gasket no longer seals, and the inlet bleeds air the moment it is not in active use, which quietly drags down suction at every other inlet on the same line.
Installation is straightforward: mount the valve to the wall box, connect it into the tubing run, and the assembly is ready to accept a hose. Because inlet valve dimensions vary between central vacuum brands, check the mounting pattern against your existing wall box before ordering a replacement.
While the old valve is off the wall, check the gasket between the valve body and the wall box as well as the door gasket itself, since both seals contribute to how tightly the assembly holds air. A fresh valve mounted over a hardened wall-box gasket will still leak, even though the new hardware is doing its job correctly.
