Product details

Part R11394 is the plastic actuator inside the hose handle on Rainbow E-series machines, the small lever that presses the switch when you squeeze the grip. It is built for handles that use seven screws to hold the grip together, the version listed for the D-4SE canister.

The actuator takes the physical wear that the switch itself is protected from. It gets pressed every time the vacuum is turned on or off at the handle, and the plastic pivot eventually rounds off or cracks at the hinge point after enough cycles.

The symptom is a handle that stops responding even though the switch underneath is fine: the vacuum will not turn on from the grip, or it needs the lever pressed at an odd angle before it engages. Disconnect power before opening the handle to check it, and count the screws in your grip handle before ordering, since this actuator is listed only for grips held together by seven of them.

Because the actuator is a small, purely mechanical part, most of what fails on it is visible once the handle is open: look for a hairline crack at the pivot point or a lever that has worn thin where it contacts the switch, and compare the old part directly against the new one before reassembling the handle.

  • Part R11394, plastic actuator
  • Fits Rainbow/Rexair E (1 Speed), E2 (1 Speed), E2 (2 Speed), 7-screw grip handle, D-4SE canister
  • Function transfers the squeeze of the grip to the handle switch
  • Replace when the handle will not turn the machine on even though the switch tests fine
