This 11-inch black Plastiflex pigtail (part 36106) has one male and one female end and serves as the electrical jumper between the vacuum body and the hose. Its short length carries power across the connection while keeping the wiring tidy at the joint.
When a pigtail's wires fray or its ends corrode, power to the hose and power nozzle turns intermittent or drops out entirely, so the motorized head cuts in and out. Replacing the jumper restores a solid electrical path so the nozzle runs steadily whenever the machine is on.
