This genuine Oreck top motor cover (Part #83178-01) fits the LW1500RS Magnesium upright and the UK30500. The cover seats over the motor housing, shielding the motor and helping preserve the sealed airflow path.
A cover that has cracked, warped, or gone missing exposes the motor to dust and breaks the air seal, which bleeds off suction and lets debris reach sensitive components. A sound replacement cover restores both protection and seal.
