Part 09-79038-51 is the clamp assembly for the Oreck U7240 Pilot upright, one of the small structural parts that keeps the machine held together under tension. Like most tensioned plastic components it gives way at the hinge or the catch rather than snapping in the middle, and it tends to go without warning.
Once it will not hold, whatever it was clamping starts to move, and movement in a vacuum means noise, wear and a lost seal in that order. Replacing the clamp is a few minutes of work and restores a firm, positive closure.
It fits the U7200ECB, U7210ECB, U7210ECR, U7211ECB, U7211ECG, U7211ECP, U7211ECR, U7212ECB, U7220ECS, U7230ECS, U7240ECS, U7241ECS, U7250ECS, U7300ECB and U7330ECBS, together with the UK30300, UK30300COM and UK30300PC.
