This replacement one-piece metal handle tube fits the Hoover 7069 and 7071 uprights. The tube forms the main handle spine that you grip and steer the vacuum with.
A bent or dented handle tube makes the machine awkward to push and can throw off your control over the nozzle. Because the whole tube is a single piece, a fresh one removes the flex and wobble that develop where sections join, restoring comfortable posture and full maneuverability during cleaning.
