This Kenmore nozzle housing (Part #KC02RDPTZRUW) replaces the power nozzle shell on models 116.21714110, 116.21714111, 116.51714111, 116.51714111B, and 116.51714111C. It holds the brush roll and routes airflow from the floor up through the nozzle neck.
When the housing cracks or its mounts break, the brush roll loses support and slips out of true, which weakens agitation and lets air escape the seam. You may notice reduced pickup on carpet and a knocking sound as the roll wanders. A new housing reseats the roll and closes the leak path.
