Titan Machine End Cuff, part number 17-1305-01, is the collar that seats the hose into the vacuum body on a Titan T1400 canister. It holds an airtight connection at that joint, which is where a canister loses the most suction if anything goes wrong, since every bit of airflow the motor generates has to pass through it before reaching the hose.
Cuffs harden and crack with age, and repeated bending at the same spot every time the hose is disconnected eventually splits the material. A worn cuff shows up as a hiss of air right at the machine inlet, a noticeable drop in suction at the tool end of the hose, or a hose that no longer seats firmly and works loose during use.
Because the cuff sits at the machine end of the airflow path, a leak there pulls in room air ahead of everything the hose has already picked up, so the loss turns up at the tool even when nothing inside the hose is blocked. Feel around the cuff by hand with the vacuum running; a hiss you can locate with your fingers is diagnostic on its own, without needing to remove any panels first.
